Relax, rejuvenate and reconnect with nature at a YMCA camp for your next event
Whether it’s a reward, planning session or brainstorming event, being in nature is enjoyable, and can improve productivity and cognitive performance. Three YMCA camps offer inspiration, well-kept facilities and a healthy dose of nature not far from home for groups looking to plan an event.
Team members from Camp St. Croix Amy Schneider, Executive Director; Hart Olson, Outdoor Education Director; and Niccole Drinkwine, Events & Retreats Coordinator and Andy Sinykin, Outdoor Learning Program Director at Camp Ihduhapi provide a sneak peak of what you can expect …
- Camp Icaghowan is east of the metro area in Amery, WI. It’s on an island on Lake Wapogasset.
- Camp Ihduhapi is west of the metro area in Loretto. It includes forest and prairie landscapes that surround Lake Independence.
- Camp St. Croix is east of the metro area in Hudson, WI. It’s surrounded by over 400 acres of woods, prairies and pine-covered bluffs overlooking the St. Croix River National Scenic Riverway.
Inclusive and welcoming
Some Y team members live onsite at camp, so when your group arrives, expect a warm welcome and someone always present to help. The Y is a mission-driven organization and strives to ensure everyone is included and welcomed.
New environments can bring new ideas
Getting away from the speed and “go-go-go” mentality of daily life can bring about creativity, boost mental health and more. Time in nature is beneficial for all ages.
Build bonds
Enjoy team-building activities like high ropes courses and community dining at large tables for up to 12. Dedicated time together can really bring a group together.
Activities aplenty
Get outdoors and bike, paddle, ski and much more—available activities vary by camp but there are several outdoor activities are available for your group, including night hikes and evening fires complete with s’mores. Choose the mix of facilitated and self-guided activities that are the best match for your group. In the event of inclement weather during your event, we creatively commit to helping you achieve your desired objectives and outcomes.
Overnight stays are an option
In addition to one-day events, string together a couple of days for a true getaway. Each Y camp offers year-round facilities, including season-appropriate cabins that are “refined rustic.” Other groups might be at camp during your visit, or you can request exclusive use of camp.
Ability to accommodate
Whether you need A/V equipment or not, want help with team-building ideas or have a specific request—we’ve got you covered. All food is included in pricing and includes fare ranging from seasonally appropriate fresh produce and homemade soups to high-end event dishes.
